You’ll never regret an eye test
A comprehensive eye examination forms the basis of everything we do at Simmons Optometrists.
It not only checks that your vision is at its best but can also flag up general health conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as well as eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataract and macular degeneration.
It is for this reason that everyone should have regular eye tests, regardless of whether or not they wear glasses.
“My optometrist never rushes the examination and is always ready to explain any queries. Always a positive visit and I feel safe and happy with her care.” – Mrs JS., Rutland
Thorough tests & detailed advice
Our 30-minute appointment allows our optometrists to take the time to understand your individual needs and fully investigate any concerns you may have. You will always receive a detailed explanation of our findings and the best possible advice about your eyes and keeping your eyesight at its best – giving you guidance on topics such as nutrition, lifestyle choices and UV protection.
We use state-of-the-art equipment such as the optomap® Retinal Exam, slit lamp cameras, computerized test charts, non-contact tonometers and visual field analysers.
We offer private appointments, currently £28.00, and NHS appointments (see NHS page for details), and have experience in helping patients of all ages; and especially those with dyslexia, dry eyes & low vision needs.
We are fully accessible to disabled patients and can arrange for interpreters and signers if necessary (notice required in advance).
Home visits can be arranged by appointment if you are unable to travel to the practice.
