Healthy Hearing was established in 2001 by Mike Stanley, who had experience in the hearing aid industry but was keen to offer customers a value-for-money personalised service. Within a few months he had opened the first centre at The Old Police House in Cliff Road, Stamford, and since then Healthy Hearing has gone from strength to strength. Healthy Hearing now offers services at Simmons Optometrists.
Mike will also visit customers at home if they can’t visit the centre or Simmons. Mike prides himself on operating a different style of hearing test. Every customer who visits Healthy Hearing will receive a Lifestyle Hearing Assessment, where questions are posed and tests carried out to determine how the person’s hearing loss is affecting their day-to-day life. This helps many people, including those who find it difficult to hear in noisy environments because standard hearing aids do not cater for those situations.
5 Star Excellence
Healthy Hearing also offers hearing aids in different styles to suit the wearer, which can’t be seen, and holds a Five Star Partner In Excellence certificate from Phonak, one of the world’s leading hearing aid manufacturers. Healthy Hearing has invested in top-of-the-range test equipment, including video otoscopes, which allows customers to see inside their ear. Mike said: “We get very positive feedback from our customers and a very large portion of our business is through recommendation. “That has taken us 10 years to build up but we are helping about 1,000 people a year to hear better, which improves their quality of life, so we are all rightly proud of the business and our reputation.”
Customer Care Award
In 2011, Mike was delighted that Healthy Hearing received the Customer Care prize at the Mercury Business Awards. He said: “It was fantastic to win the Mercury Business Award in our 10th year. It really has been a fantastic year and we are proud of what we do here at Healthy Hearing.”
